There are times when a specific incident or an organizational objective may require a more creative and dynamic solution. When this happens, the specialized Service Units are tasked with providing solutions to these types of challenges. There are many different units within the Longview Police Department that fall under this definition.
What makes each of these units unique is the equipment and specialized training each unit has at its disposal to address the challenges within their sphere of influence. Some of the units are staffed with officers who are assigned to the unit full time while others are called upon when needed. Each member of the unit receives the training necessary to function within their assignment with a high degree of skill and professionalism.
