Officer James Bray joined the Longview Police Department in December of 2006 and was nominated for Rookie of the Year. Prior to coming to work for Longview Police Department, he served over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps. Officer Bray served in patrol for three years.  Officer Bray holds both Intermediate Peace Officer and Special Investigator's Certificates.  Officer Bray holds a Mental Health Peace Officer Certification and is also a member of the Longview PD Bike team. He is also a TCLEOSE instructor and a Certified Passenger Safety Technician.  He was a Field Training Officer for seven months prior to taking the position of Beat 30 Police Area Representative.
