At the Longview Police Department, the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), located at 307 West Cotton Street,  is organized into units that are offense specific, thereby maximizing job knowledge and experience among detectives promoting higher quality investigations. The Criminal Investigations Division is divided into five sections:

• Crimes Against Persons
• Crimes Against Property
• Technical Investigative Services
• Special Investigations and Apprehension Unit
• County Organized Drug Enforcement Unit
