Assistant Chief Don Dingler
Assistant Chief Don Dingler began his career with the Longview Police Department in 1973. During his career, Asst. Chief Dingler has been assigned to a wide variety of assignments as both an officer and/or supervisor, including patrol, traffic, training, jail services and narcotics. As a command level officer, he has been the Commander in all major components of the Police Department and is currently the Commander of the Field Operations Bureau which includes Patrol, Traffic, School Resource Unit and the Special Investigations and Apprehension Section.
Asst. Chief Dingler is a Longview native and graduated from Longview High School . He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Tyler. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
