Officer Kristie Brian is a 1990 graduate of New Diana High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1996. Prior to coming to work for the Longview Police Department, she served as a Probation Officer for Upshur County Community Supervision and Corrections Department for 7 1/2 years. While there, she supervised adult misdemeanor and felony cases.

Officer Brian joined the Longview Police Department in October of 2003 and was nominated for Rookie of the Year. She holds her Instructor Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education and is an instructor for the Longview Teen Court anger management program. She has also served as a Field Training Officer prior to being selected to be the Police Area Representative for District "B", Beat 40 in January of 2007.

Officer Brian is the Department's liaison with the community. Her duties include the implementation of neighborhood improvement projects specific to Beat 40, including Neighborhood Crime Watch and Citizen on Patrol programs. She is also involved in city park safety patrols, prostitution stings, and neighborhood revitalization support.
