Officer Aaron Clinton is a 1988 graduate of Spring Hill High School and prior to becoming a Longview Police Officer he served as a Reserve Officer for the Tatum, Gladewater and Lakeport Police Departments.

Aaron joined the Longview Police Department in 1995 and worked nine years in the Patrol Division. During this period, Aaron served as a Uniform Crime Scene Investigator and as a Field Training Officer and he holds an Advanced Peace Officer Certificate from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education.

In April of 2004, Aaron was reassigned as a Police Area Representative for District "B" which encompasses much of the central portion of the city. As a Police Area Representative, Aaron is the department's liaison with the community he serves. He is charged with the implementation of various neighborhood improvement projects specific to District "B", including city park safety patrols, prostitution stings, neighborhood revitalizations and support to citizen organizations such as Citizens on Patrol and the Neighborhood Watch program. In addition, Aaron is a Texas Certified Home Security Specialist tasked with crime prevention education programs for personal safety and home and business security.

Aaron is the Department's tobacco enforcement officer, responsible for the management of grants aimed at reducing underage access to tobacco products. In this capacity, Aaron represents the Department at People Educating Communities About Tobacco (PECAT) meetings, a movement consisting of youth whose focus is education about the dangers of tobacco use.
